Madhudvisa promotes Hayagriva version.

I don't think they have the latest correct version out on e-book format.

I hear they're going to start selling books through the web though, so you may want to keep your eyes peeled for that.

Perhaps the most notable feature of this chapter is that the revisions to the purports are so few. As in the rest of the book, when revisions are warranted they are made, and otherwise the text is left unchanged. In this chapter fewer revisions are needed, so fewer are made.

Still, there are several revisions worth seeing.

You'll see:

* Four places where a typist has skipped from one occurrence of a word to the next--for example, from "teach" to "teach"--leaving out the text in between. The second edition restores the missing text.

This happens twice in the purport to text 20 and once each in the purports to texts 30 and 37.

You'll also see:

* What Srila Prabhupada actually said about duties that "complement one's psychophysical condition." (purport to text 35)

Then who approved Hayagriva's version? Why did Srila Prabhupada use the 1972 version for 5 years and order reprints? If it wasn't up to his high standard, he would've ordered it to be revised.

manasi_seva, this is vague. If you have specific problems with JAS's editing and ideas he changed, write him. From my side, I'm not aware of any. As I mentioned, I worked with BG transcripts in 1997-8.

What 'additions in the purports that relate to the modern times' do you mean?
GBC came up with the idea of annotations but BBT disapproved it.

Translation isn't reinterpretation if one understands the text and sticks to it. But if one doesn't trust it, one is always welcome to read the original language.

Btw, I was told that Slovak people prefer Czech over Slovak translations. And there're incomparably more differences between CZ and SK language than between American and British English.

What is even worse is that Krishna's words say the complete opposite "He HAS NOT come into being"

It just does not say that falsity in that verse, rather Lord Krishna & Srila Prabhupada teaches the opposite

It is funny -- in one article an idiot quotes a letter to jayadvaitadasa from prabhupada as approval of a final version. there is no approval in it. It just says "It is very nice. So I shall be looking forward to seeing the entire manuscript and book " (Letter to Jayadvaita, May 28, 1972) and it is written without much looking anyways, because May 26, 1972 was the date of jayadvaitadasa's letter. so now because of people like portnoy, who made so many mistakes, we all need to live with a version crippled by kritananananda's boyfriend!

Hayagriva is the boyfriend of Kirtanananda, always was, his editions and changes are bogus. Mistakes of typists are bogus. Mind your language, take your prozak or whatever your doctor prescribed or whatever you are on and go to bed. Do not sell drugs or you will get busted again. What you said in the other posting of Hayagriva and HDG Srila Prabhupada hugging with tears I can understand
that. HDGSP was alone in a foreign country with nothing but the clothing on his back and his books. His own

along Hayagriva on the opposite side crosses the road and offers to help HDGSP. The timing of this meeting and
and what followed thereafter , in what way can one understand this. And as you know the rest is history in the
