Why did Lord Rama abandon Sita, if He was a righteous King/Husband?
  • Yes, this question was asked by someone whom i could'nt give substantial reasoning.

Why did Lord Rama consider the words of some washerman in his kingdom more important than having his wife Sita (the Goddess of Fortune)

After all that fight in lanka with Ravana and all those pains...bringin her back! Why this?
  • this seems to be in direct opposition to this concept:

Lord Rama could just dismiss a poor washerman comment but he didn't. Now, wonder why?
  • Because he was the king and Sita was not his wife but the Queen. The washerman told his wife that I am not like Rama that I can tolerate my wife spending a night outside her home.

Of course the washerwoman wasn't going to pass an agni-pariksha like Sitadevi did.
