Two books were mentioned in the article on omens, "Prasna Marga" and "Brhat-samhita," both in English. Has anyone read these? Are they any good?

I need to study Vedic omens in regard to my research on the third sex. I've heard that according to the Vedic science of omen-reading, seeing a courtesan or person of the third sex before leaving on a journey is a sign of good luck. On the other hand, seeing a courtesan or transvestite before a battle is a sign of defeat since these two were omens of peace and prosperity, not battle and bloodshed. I need a good book for reference to verify both of these omens and also to find more.

-Amara
