I'm sorry rasa108, I don't have 'a' purport as such, but I would like to research it and come back. Personally, I would say it means chanting the holy name without offense as abhiram said, so it is not so simple as it sounds. There is always a deeper purport to sadhu's sayings.

Prabhupada would often chant 12 rounds. Sometimes he would chant more.

Where is the evidence of this cdd? more heresay?
  1.
There are levels on which the 4 regulations can be followed, and there are levels of purity of chanting. So the best thing is to always depend on the causeless mercy of Lord Caitanya for one's deliverance (Ahaituki Kripa), rather than depending on the strength of one's chanting and strength in following the regulations.

It's a combination.....one's endeavour to follow the process in a serious way and our dependance on the mercy of the Lord....according to the endeavour of the devotee the Lord awards that endeavour accordingly....the strength you speak of comes from the Lord and not just our own endeavour (although that has to be there).

Its a well measured timing of his rounds that he did very early in the morning. Is it wrong?

It is the time he spent chanting. Nobody said only, normally..
