I found this and I got to know that one couple friend of mine are in this situation. One is manglik and the other is not. Do you know how to nullify the effect?
Mangal dosha is a commonly found dosha. This dosha is also called Kuja dosha or Bhauma dosha. This dosha occurs when the placement of Mars in the horoscope is in certain houses that cause malefic influences. People, in whose natal chart Mars is placed inauspiciously, are called Mangliks.
People of both sexes can be Manglik. If a boy having Mangal dosha is married to a girl having Mangal dosha then the malefic affects are nullified leading to prosperity and a happy married life.
The most famous myth about being a Manglik is that if he/she is married to a non-Manglik then the spouse is bound to die. This does not happen to everybody. Such predicament is only true for horoscopes, which have a severely afflicted Mars. A good astrologer can do this determination. Approximately 42% of the population are supposed to be of Mangliks.
They need a GOOD astrologer to match them with a compatible person. The mangal dosha is real and should be matched to someone proper. There are not that many good astrologers unfortunately. The only good one I know I really have to remind many times to get readings from him because he is so busy. i know one another devotee who is not so experienced though. Mars is main dosha, but other planets like Rahu/ketu also cause dosh.
I personally don't know about nullifying the effects, they just have to be taken into account. I don't personally believe in the puja stuff and putting on gemstones much. Maybe it does work, I don't know
i heard one story of a mataji afflicted with Mangalik Dosha being married first to a tree. They believed that this put the dosha onto that marriage. Then she married her husband afterwards. Its pretty strange and im not sure how bonifide but nonetheless interesting.
I also heard that when you have more than one marriage in the lines of your hands you have to marry as many trees as lines you have but one which belongs to the husband...
Getting married to trees to nullify mangal dosh is a very common practice. I don't know if it is karma kanda, or vaishnava or what. But devotees do it and some devotee astrologers recommend it.
I can't understand how a lifelong suffering of becoming a widow/widower can be nullified by marrying a tree. Seems to mock the whole concept of learning from our karma. Doesn't make sense to me. It is common in India to take some shortcuts and get out of troubles though.
My cousin in Delhi was told by a wandering sadhu in New Delhi that he would have an accident and to give him some donation to perform a yajna. This was probably 20 years ago, so there were not so many cheaters. They did the yajna and in a few weeks there was a close call accident but he was saved. In the past the common people in India had faith in sadhus like that. That was just a regular neighborhood in New Delhi. Now I am sure all that is gone.

The process of Bhakti (devotional service) nullifies all our bad as well as good karma. The more intense Bhakti we perform, the faster our karma gets burnt-out.

Based on my little astrology knowledge I am giving some input here. Location of Mars in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses of a native's horoscope make a person mangalik. However vision from Jupiter and Saturn nullify the dosha. A professional astrologer can provide more insight on this matter.
In terms of your friend's situation, ask them to check with a good astrologer whether the person who is mangalik will come across Mars dasa (not "dasa" as in "servant" but a planet's ruling period in the horoscope) during next 20-30 years. If the astrologer says "yes" they may want to do some puja for "dosha nivarti" (nullifying the dosha).
In South India people do pujas to Lord Karthikeya (His other name is Lord Muruga, second son of Lord Shiva) to nullify mangal dosha. Vaisnavas go to Srirangam temple in Tamilnadu and do pujas. Krishna says in Bhagavad-Gita that I am Karthikeya, so I would recommend your friend to just surrender and pray to Krishna and everything will be alright :)
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Bhakti nullifies all the karma. In one sense "Just Chant and Be Happy" is itself the one and only solution to most of our problems in life :)
Hari bol My understanding is that the spouse with kuja dosa will be left by the one who does not have it. By death, abandonment , divorce, etc. The houses mentioned above are correct but also to be considered is the presence of other malefics in these houses (Saturn, Rahu, Ketu). The nodes(Rahu and Ketu) act like the Lord of the sign in which they are posited. Thus if either of the nodes are in Aries or Scorpio in the above houses, there will be a very similar result to having Mars placed there. My advice is very serious astrological consultation before marriage.
I thought it was opposite, the spouse with kuja dosha can cause death of other spouse. That is extreme, but astrologers say it can be avoided.
I believe the papa or dosha samyam score is followed more closely in south india? Gayatri Devi Vasudev wrote that guna koota should only be 10%. You have to see longevity, overal strength, divorce and so many things from a chart. Then the dosha samyam is very important.
You have to enable macros for it to work. Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu in 1,2,4,7,8,12 contribute to a score. It is only numeric but certain planets in certain houses should be considered more malefic (mars,rahu in 7th,8th) etc
Yes, the non manglik may die or leave or seek divorce but I don't know if the manglik spouse actually CAUSES this. One way or another the manglik will lose the non manglik. This is the danger of this type of marriage.
