    We see it is readily presented when the person holds a politically strong position.
    When the fallen he/she is a grass-root devotee, the "is to be considered saintly" part... magically disappears.

    Very interesting question! Yes, personal humility is always important. "I'm a materialistic rascal; always full of lust" . It's difficult to offer a strong conclusion here but better to error on the side of caution in judging the Lord's devotees. One distinction can be made. Those who fall down simply due to attraction to old bad habits verses those who become vicious, blasphemous attackers of a pure devotee like A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

    May I enquire if "falling down due to old bad habits" includes posing and cheating for years and "blasphemous attackers" of Srila Prabhupada, all that are not cooperating with the GBC?

    I am not into "no devotee can initiate but Srila Prabhupada", but I do not buy "all dissidents of the GBC are blasphemous attackers of Srila Prabhupada" either.

    In fact, it is very rare to find "blasphemous attackers of Srila Prabhupada" unless they are crazy or other religions fundamentalists.

    Jaya Prabhu There are many who consider those who do not follow the GBC line to be blasphemous attackers. However, in my experience, there may be a roughly equivalent number who believe just the opposite. Namely, that the GBC and their followers are the blasphemous attackers. Personally, I'm not inclined to take sides in this controversy. I find both sides to be somewhat offensive in varying degrees. Beyond that, my advice is to error on the side of caution since we certainly cannot see with the clarity of Lord Nityananda or Lord Gauri Hari .
    Personally, I can think of only two persons who might fit that category. One is the son of a former , fairly high ranking ISKCON official. The other was a personal editor of Srila Prabhupada in the mid 70's who was directly rejected by His Divine Grace.
    Those who know the history of the movement may know to whom I'm referring without mentioning them directly.

    Thank you for clarifying. I see the two factions as the two faces of the same coin, Prabhu. Only if we would be more engaged in practical service, all this controversies would fade.
