    Why suffer? If a healthy person drinks a lot before going to sleep (best early) the previous day, he'll be fine and can chant, read, etc. without problems.

    Chant, work ( Saturday - working day here), read, associate with the devotees and have Sankirtana.

    what about eating a lot? i heard it is not good and you will get hungry faster.

    Yes, before nirjala I don't eat much, just normal, but drinking a lot helps me. It also depends on a climate - if it's too hot and one sweats one's water backup runs out faster so it should be larger.
