    if not, should the GBC have a check and balance system or
    they should hold absolute authority as to date with all the consequences that implies, period

    Ideally it will have both... just as any devotee should have absolute authority behind him, GBC should have too, for that they need a system of checks and bals. GBC is very stable if compared with any known to me leadership of gaudiya group. Its not ideal of course. Do you want them to be ideal?

    Frankly, I would expect not perfect but with understandable small percentage of mistakes. To me now is mostly mistakes and something good.

    Same with me, a conditioned soul, I do not see it as the problem.

    The only problem I see in this regard is that some GBCs distance themselves from the general mass of devotees and somehow come across as not very compassionate and rather 'abstract'. Devotees need so much support and will pay 'good currency of trust' if support and compassionate (but not condescending approach) is shown. Just my five cents.
