For those of you who use Firefox, there are some scripts that you can install by the addon feature.

NoScript - This addon blocks all scripts by default from loading a webpage. It allows only scripts to run from sites that you trust. It prevents clickjacking and has anti-xss protection. You can learn more about the addon at this website: http://noscript.net/features#basics

Adblock Plus - This blocks ads from loading on a page, which drastically increases pageload times. When you install it and restart Firefox, you have to subscribe (free, no signup needed) to one of the adblock packages. It's pretty self-explanitory from there.

BlockSite - Self-explanitory. The one feature I like about this is you can use wildcards in the blocklist. For example, you can block adult websites by typing in "*porn*" (w/o quotes) and it'll block those sites from appearing. You can even put a password on it so if you have kids they wouldn't be able to change it, however, there is one problem and that it can be disabled, that's why you need...

Public Fox - This allows you to put a password on the addon box, as well as some other things like history, and about:config page as well. This is a must have if you have BlockSite.

WOT (Web of Trust) - It's a huge list of websites that people have rated as either safe, or unsafe. When installed, there is an icon left of the address bar that'll either be green, red, or white with a question mark that'll tell you if the site you're at is safe or not.

About the only drawback is that they don't work if you use another web browser ;)
