Krsna's level of modern activity seems quite consistent with any other long-deceased or ancient mythological person. The problem of evil, expressed lucidly by Epicurus, logically disproves the existence of a benevolent God (and the philosophical concept of free will, which devotees often say "we still have," is also disproven by neuroscience). Most of what is called Vedic knowledge looks completely ridiculous in the light of modern science. So what evidence makes devotees believe their faith is true, when objectively it appears quite delusional?

My Guru left the movement is 2002. It is now 2011. I am still sad about it. When he left the movement, he told me that the ritviks told him he should kill himself. What a terrible thing to say to anyone!!!!! Anyway, I forgave him years ago. I hope he will return some day. I was doing well when he was helping me. I remember the good old days when I would have my 16 rounds chanted before Mongal Arotik on my days off from work. Now I worry that I will never get my act together. Is anyone else having problems too? Thanks

In courtship, a couple get to know each other and decide if there will be an engagement or other such agreement. A courtship may be an informal and private matter between two people or may be a public affair, or a formal arrangement with family approval. Traditionally, in the case of a formal engagement, it has been perceived that it is the role of a male to actively "court" or "woo" a female, thus encouraging her to understand him and her receptiveness to a proposal of marriage.
few days back i dreamt of someone very close. just a day back it was a dream about Srimad Bhagavatam and last night it was about Sri RadhaKrsna's abhisheka. i dont know if these are just dreams or they mean anything like a subconscious state of thoughts or something even more.
let me explain the dreams..
1. i dreamed of being in some public place and this person was really close to me.
FACT to note: in reality we both have stopped speaking because of certain issues. so i think its just the 'missing him' factor playing here.
2. there were 2 girls either distributing books or selling books. they were doing it with a pile of books. i happened to see a two set volume of Srila Prabhupada's Srimad Bhagavatam (an only english translation version). i noticed it and asked one among the girls to fetch me one set of the book. but to my surprise , no one of us were able to trace the books i saw just moments ago and when i was telling the girl i did see she was smiling and said 'if we do find it you ll have to shell out a lot'
FACT to note: i have been doing really bad in my sadhana. actually i havent been chanting at all since months. and since few days i have been thnking i would restart with my studying of the Srimad Bhagavatam, which i last were in canto 4, one of the last 3 chapters. but i dont happen to read anything at all.
3. last night i dreamed of being in a temple and there was an abisheka ceremony going on. as there was a huge gathering of devotees in the templa i and a few others couldnt stand before the Lordship's abisheka platform we moved to a smaller room lke structure from where we couldnt see the abisheka.. however to our lusk. someone among us suggested that we can use a live telecast and see His abisheks. we immediately took out a Tablet and turned a telecast on. we did see the abisheka on our tablet then
FACT: same as for 2 above

now i am unclear if these dreams are just states of thoughts???
and if these do need analysis, i need one please.

Hare Krishna. PAMHO. Thanks for your efforts in mridanga teaching site. I saw there the mridanga pranam mantra. I can share with you corrected version of this mantra. Once our ISKCON sanskrit scholar and Prabhupada book`s editor Gopiparana dhana prabhu visited our temple in Latvia, Riga. I showed this mantra to him. And he told that this mantra has few grammatical mistakes, some mistakes in endings. Before I had it like you have. So he corrected everything and then mantra looked the following. Now it sounds even correct from metrical and poetical point of view (he pronounced it for me and now I remember it`s accents in pronunciation). May be you can use it`s corrected version in your web site?

Namo jagannatha sutaya
Namo mrdanga lavanaya
Rasa madhuri sahasra guna samyuktaya
Namo mrdangaya namo namaha ("h" - here is with dot under, "a" - is short)

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada ... PAMHO

I have never been a dooms day believer and being a fallen devotee all one can hope to do in the face of inevitable death whether by calamity or natural causes is to be fortunate enough to remember the supreme excellent pastimes of Radha & Krishna and then one may consider ones life a success.

Much is being said about the Dec 21st, 2012 there are many ancient cultures particularly the Mayan and Sumerian calandars that end on this date or ends the cycle.

Apparently a new planet named Nibiru.(Nasa calls Eris - Greek Godess of Strife) has been discovered that is heading into our solar system or I should say closer to our solar system, they say it has always been in our system but takes a large elliptical orbit and is due to be visible by the human eye end of 2009, in the southern hemisphere and its full impact on earth is due to be felt 2012.

The USA has setup a new tracking station in the antartica (perfect place and perfect time) to observe and track the new planet as it will first become viewable in the extreme southern hemisphere.

On seeing all of this news or speculation come up I thought to myself what does the Vedic Literatures say about this time 5000 years into the age of Kali Yuga?
I found this in the Brahma-vaivarta Purana 4.129 This is a conversation between Mother Ganga and Lord Krishna, as Krishna is departing for his abode she asking what her situation will be?

Online Reference: http://veda.harekrsna.cz/encyclopedia/kaliyuga.htm

My comments or questions in [Square Brackets]

Text 49
"Ganga said: O protector, Supreme enjoyer, on your departure for the perfect abode, Goloka, thereafter what will be my situation in the age of Kali?"

Text 50
"The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Remain on earth for five thousand years of Kali yuga. Sinners will deposit their sins in you by bathing."
[Well 5000 years is up? what is going to happen to remove Mother Ganga from the planet?]

Skipping to Text 55 (not enough space here but u can read in the link provided)
"O Ganga, the whole planet will become a pilgrimage site by the presence of Vaisnavas, even though it had been full of sinners and sins."
[This is Krishna directly referencing Srila Prabhupada and Iskcon is it not?, I do not exclude other families and brances of Gaudia Vaisnavas but SP is the one that made Krishna a house hold name around the world and making every major city (Iskcon Temple) a place of pilgramage.

"For 10,000 years of Kali such devotees of Mine will be present on earth. After the departure of My devotees there will be only one varna [outcaste]."

Text 60a
"Devoid of My devotees, the earth will be shackled by Kali. Saying this, Krsna departed."

Text 60b
"(Sri Krsna said:) Lord Hari will stay on this earth for the first ten-thousand years of Kali-yuga. For that time the deities of the demigods will be worshiped and the Puranas and scriptures will also be present."

Text 60c
"For half that period the Ganga and other holy places will be present. For half that period the village temples and the Vedas studied by learned brahmanas will be present."

[So for Mother Ganga one of the biggest rivers in the world (and many holy places) to be removed from the planet that would imply a fair bit of global warming or some major event
would it not?]
